"Men go abroad to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the river, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars; and they pass by themselves without wondering."

about three trees
Another coffee shop in Bellingham?
pic Yes. Yet another place to buy coffee in the espresso-obsessed Northwest. But our approach is a bit unique. We love coffee, and our coffee is really good stuff, but the atmosphere is equally important to us - not just the décor, but the art, the music, and especially the friendships that are formed here. Three trees is a place to belong, a place of welcome and love.
Serving the Community
Here at three trees, we are committed to building community in the heart of Bellingham. We display local artists; showcase local musicians and poets; and we also host an open discussion night on current events that effect our daily lives. All this is done while friendships are formed in a warm and safe environment.
The story of our coffee
Three trees coffeehouse features only the finest Guatemalan Finca Vista Hermosa. Three trees coffee is handpicked by Mayan workers - a group of people discriminated against in their own country - who are then paid better than fair trade. Dealing directly with plantation owners, three trees can assure our guests the finest Arabic coffee that is shade and organically grown. We also offer a fine selection of locally blended teas; our Thai green tea supports Akha farmers escaping the opium trade.
Yum yum...
Along with our wide selection of espresso drinks, you may enjoy one of our delicious fresh-baked pastries provided by the Grace Cafe.
It’s not easy being green
Three trees is committed to practicing sustainable business, in order to take care of creation and to provide a safer, less-toxic environment for our customers.
Blessed to be a blessing
Many of our baristas are volunteers, and instead of keeping the tips themselves, they have generously offered to pass on the money to non-profits in the county. And any of our profits as a business, beyond our minimal running costs, will also go to help non-profits, like The Whatcom Dream, The Opportunity Council, or OTCM.
